We have added the new DNS Server name on all the workstations, but when loging in we are unable to find the database.

I was told we also need to use the same "service name"?

what is that?

I am building a fairly large pedigree, and I want to delete an individual which I have added. When I try to delete it the program freezes and I cannot do anything. I have to force quit using Task Manager. This also happens when I try to link this individual to another individual.

Has anyone else had a freezing problem, and if so, how did they overcome it?

I have just recently started using Progeny 7 after a lot of work has been put into developing the database and the pedigrees. We are interested in digitizing a number of studies onto Progeny but we are running into a few issues such as the need to attach multiple scanned documents to an individual.

Using the Cancer Example from Demo as an example, what if we wished to attach images (scanned documents) of an individual's cancer(s) . One person in the pedigree may not have cancer while another could have multiple. Do we have to put in multiple fields into the data sheet and will that have to apply to each individual? If this is the case, can we alter the heading for each field to better describe what is being linked or shown?

Lastly, is this a reasonable, or feasible, route to take for trying to attach scanned records, documents, or images?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Is there any way to create a drop down menu that, when a value is selected, another value is generated in another field. For example, selecting "breast" in a drop-down which would generate an ICD code in another field.

2. Has there been a request to add a feature that allows attaching of scanned documents or images to an individual or a pedigree?

Greetings
I am about to start with Progeny for our organisation. Whilst I can see how to start afresh, I am looking for information on how to bring across some 7500 pedigrees with 180000 individuals from Cyrillic.
Importing from Cyrillic gives me just a pedigree outline without individual properties. Anyone been down this road??

If you have set up an individual data sheet to have all of the fields display a heading that is different from the field name is there any way to change back to showing the field name instead of the heading? The only way I see is to drag all of the fields from the warehouse again. We have a form that is set up like this and has a lot of additional text added so we don't want to start all over, but would like to see the actual names of the fields instead of the heading.

Greg M. Silverman on "Attributes for proband vs kindred"

Am wondering how flexible the data sheet design is. In particular, we have a questionnaire in which the proband has data attributes (i.e., fields) that the kindred do not, so is it possible to either bind a different data sheet to the proband than what we would bind to the kindred, or can we at least hide these attributes for individuals that are not a proband?

If this is not possible, then I assume our best option would be to enter these data outside of Progeny and then import the required data into Progeny so that we could create the desired pedigree?

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone on this forum enlighten me as to the advantages/disadvantages of encrypting the Progeny server database? We have sensitive patient information that we want to protect. Have other customers used an encrypted database with success? Have there been performance problems? If so, under what circumstances?
Thank you.

Is there any way to set rules on how or when data is entered into a field?

Examples:

-Answered "No" to breast cancer, so you should not be able to enter a diagnosis age
-Cannot save without entering certain fields
